Chobe National Park is the 3rd largest park in Botswana and covers around 10689 sq km and is home to around 120000 elephants. It began back in 1933 when a 24000 sq km area was set aside as a non hunting area. In 1960 in became the Chobe Game Reserve and shrank to 21000 sq km, then in 1967 it became the Chobe National Park (the first in Botswana) and shrank again.
