The ancient heart of Rome. Visit it, explore it, and you cannot help but be in awe of the Roman civilisation. Truly impressive. If you have even a passing interest in ancient history at least a full day if not 2 is required to do the area justice. Stand on the arena floor of the Colosseum, squint your eyes and let your mind roam. You will feel the sand and hear the roar of the crowds. Later walk the forum, follow the footsteps of Julius Caesar. The amount of historic events that have transpired in this small area is truly amazing.
